Cold, mineral spring water has
been a valued treasure at Arrowhead Springs Resort for thousands of years,
beginning with Native Americans and continuing as a health destination for
contemporary guests. In the 1940-50s, Arrowhead Springs
Hotel was the place to be seen by celebrities worldwide. The contents of
the spring waters were reputed to contain life-nourishing minerals, as noted in
this early curative description:
"As part of the cure, and to get the greatest
good from a visit to Arrowhead Springs, it is suggested you drink two glasses of
the water from any of the hot springs with the juice of half a lemon before
breakfast. Then walk at least 15 minutes before eating. Drink
quantities of the cold Spring water during the day and before retiring.
Drinking the mineral waters promotes nutrition, augments the secretions and aids
the constructive metabolism." (on Hotel menu, 1940s)

A fifty-year study shows the waters to be of primitive origin, rising to the
surface for the first time, since neither season nor flood affects the
temperature or mineral content; the waters carry neither surface impurities nor
carbon dioxide.
