At present, Arrowhead Springs Resort is supplied with natural gas and electricity from regional utility companies. The domestic hot water is provided, in part, by on-site geothermal wells. Plans are to explore the capabilities of these geothermal resources to provide 100% of the hot water requirements. In addition, solar and wind power are abundant and reliable energy resources. The optimization of photo-voltaic panels to generate electricity is a viable alternative to reduce air pollution sources and noise from vehicles, maintenance equipment, and motors. For example, the use of photo-voltaic powered golf carts and hybrid-fuel based transportation are being considered. The integrated use of hydrogen-based fuel cells is planned to create an energy independence and reliable supply to businesses, homes, and community requirements.
